Spring/Summer 2013 sees Bassike take a modern twist on traditional sportswear. Combining minimalist silhouettes with luxurious fabrics and detail. Necklines remain collarless and clothing features raw hems, reflecting this 90s aesthetic. This is contrasted with beautifully constructed jacquard styles with subtle leather detailing. This collection is one that can be adapted to make any look ooze modernity and swag.
If I had all the money in the world I would buy the whole collection but unfortunately this isn’t the case (just yet…) so I have chosen my fave pieces!
The gastronomic themes roll on for Melbourne jewellery designer Lucy Folk, who launched her latest collection of foodie jewellery in Los Angeles last week.
Tropicalismo is a summer celebration of love and culture, inspired by Folk’s honeymoon in Brazil during Carnival. The 30-piece collection is as much a tribute to the rhythms of the fiesta, as it is to her enduring fascination with food.
The range comprises crocheted fruit (pineapples in metallic thread are a particular highlight), citrus slices in resin and watermelon pips in precious metals all offer up Folk’s signature irreverence. Every piece oozes high quality design and manufacturing.
